Gather Together
An ice cream parlour reimagined as a shared table, a seven-metre curvilinear counter that expands and contracts to help strangers eat like a family.
Eating Like A Family
Gather – Together reimagines the ice cream parlour as a shared social space around the idea of eating like a family. It interprets elements of Ahmedabad's old-city houses in a contemporary vocabulary suited to an informal, lively ice cream library.
A Seven-Metre Table
A continuous, seven-metre curvilinear table winds through the space, expanding and contracting along its length. Narrow stretches seat couples close together, wider ones fit families, and loose stools keep seating flexible with quick turnover.
Furniture As Connector
The table is a social connector, bringing people together through the everyday act of sharing ice cream. As groups gather and move on, it accommodates a changing rhythm of occupation.
Pockets Of Space
Juxtaposed materials, textures and volumes create a dialogue between built and unbuilt elements. Different pockets offer varied experiences while staying connected to the whole.
