Located at a prominent crossroads in Ahmedabad, The Urban Twist is an urban marker bringing together the city's architectural heritage and its contemporary identity, exploring the sculptural potential of brick.
Brick Reimagined
Brick is deeply rooted in Ahmedabad's architecture, from old-city lanes to traditional façades. The project reinterprets this everyday material through a dynamic twisting geometry that adds movement and a contemporary expression.
A Rising Spiral
Built from carefully laid layers, the column gradually rotates as it rises into a continuous spiral. The changing orientation of each layer highlights masonry precision, and light and shadow accentuate its form through the day.
A Moment Of Pause
Set against constant street movement, the column creates a pause in the urban landscape, celebrating craftsmanship and Ahmedabad's capacity to evolve through a deliberate shift in form.
